So every child can have

Sweet Dreams at night

Bringing comfort and joy to pediatric patients in long-term hospital stays.

Our mission

The Sweet Dream Project is a non-profit organization on a mission to brighten the hospital journey for pediatric patients by personalizing their rooms. We transform sterile hospital spaces into sanctuaries for sweet dreams, tailored to each child's unique personality and preferences. Our goal is to create a warm, inviting, and comforting environment that positively impacts their healing process.

1

The Sweet Dream Project is proud to partner with The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Through this partnership, we coordinate monthly delivery dates to bring Sweet Dream Bags to patients. The personalized form below is for Child Life Specialists or designated nurses who have been identified and authorized to complete it.

2

Once we receive the completed forms, we use our budget of $500 per child to carefully shop for items. Following HIPAA guidelines, we order personalized decorations, toys, and gifts from Amazon.com based on the preferences shared in each child’s form. Our goal is to select items that reflect their interests and bring comfort and joy during their hospital stay.

3

All items are delivered in a “Sweet Dream Portable Duffle” with wheels to make it easy for families to pack up and move from room to room during inpatient stays, and to take home upon discharge.

Each duffle is thoughtfully packed by our Dream Team and personalized with the child’s name tag, along with a special note from our President, Ayana Banks.

4

Finally comes the most fulfilling step, delivering the bags.
Our President, Ayana Banks, personally delivers each Sweet Dream Duffle to The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, creating a meaningful full-circle moment. The bags are then given to Child Life Specialists, who help patients unpack their personalized decorations and transform their hospital room into a comforting sanctuary for sweet dreams at night.

About the Founder

Ayana Banks

As a teen cancer survivor, Ayana Banks knows firsthand the impact a hospital stay can have on a child. During her treatment, her mother decorated her room, making it feel like a slice of home. This experience inspired Ayana to found The Sweet Dream Project, ensuring other pediatric patients can experience the same comfort and joy. Her vision is to transform the hospital experience for pediatric patients so they can have sweet dreams at night.
